Hey there,

I just want to confirm what is wrong. When I go over smooth but deep bumps, my suspension squeaks, very loudly, sounds like an old ass car when it does. Is it the struts or spings or what have you (im not good when it comes to suspension)? i can only hear it on semi-large bumps, not during normal driving. how much would it be to fix??? or should i just go for new stuff all around?

or is it possible that it just needs some lubing?

how much mileage is on the gtp? original suspension? That might help us answer the question better.

If it's the original suspension, that could just be a sign you need to replace it. The squeaking could be coming from the mounts or the suspension components. I'd say you're due for new shocks, struts, and mounts.

my car does it too. Its the rear struts/strut plates on mine.

Its too expensive to fix on mine so I'm going to wait it out for now, Its not terrible.........yet.

mine does that too, especially while cornering and hitting bumps at the same time. It sucks because I just replaced the front shocks and rear struts with KYBs and I only have a couple thousand miles on them so far. It sounds like an old lumber wagon. I wish I knew what was causing it.

did you have the mounts replaced too? That could be the cause of the noise if they're old and falling apart.

I didn't buy new strut mounts because i guess they didnt look that bad. I guess if I find some extra money that is what I will do.

Well good luck having to take it apart and put it back together just to change that. I dunno how you compress the shocks to take them out and then put them back in.

Remember, he has a "99". It has a completely different rear suspension than ours.

I say, spray a bunch of W-D40 up into all the flex areas you see, and around the mounts and bolts. Take it for a drive and go from there. I've had my car for 9 years and the squeeks come and go. Sometimes you solve them, sometimes they just go away.
