DrCheeto Posted July 16, 2005 Report Posted July 16, 2005 I had the car running great for about 2 weeks, and now its doing the same crap... Running rough, horrible missing, no power.... I gutted out the cat, to no avail.. still runs the same.. I'm now getting a P0102 code (Low or No MAF Voltage)... Would that cause the car to run this poorly? (oh and the car runs the same with the maf plugged in and unplugged....) Quote
mihela816 Posted July 16, 2005 Report Posted July 16, 2005 3800's stall constantly and run like ass with a bad MAF, I imagine 3100's are no different. Quote
DrCheeto Posted July 16, 2005 Author Report Posted July 16, 2005 It doesnt stall, just has a horrible miss, and no power... Its not ignition or fuel related, I've already replaced coil packs, wires, plugs, icm , injectors, fuel pump, fuel filter....... So its either the MAF or the computer is bad... Quote
Supreme Cutlass Posted July 16, 2005 Report Posted July 16, 2005 Just replace the MAF, it should run worse with it unplugged, which points me to a bad sensor. Quote
MonteCarloChick Posted July 16, 2005 Report Posted July 16, 2005 My car won't run AT ALL with no MAF.... Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted July 16, 2005 Report Posted July 16, 2005 My 88' GP ran okay without a MAF (yep, the one and only year the 2.8 w-body had a MAF) however it ran rich causing the IAC to get carboned up, THEN it ran shitty! (stalling etc.) Quote
Redwingvksm Posted July 16, 2005 Report Posted July 16, 2005 unplug the MAF and see if it changes. Â On newer GM cars when you unplug the MAF it'll make it run alittle better... Â That'll signal if it's the MAF or not... Quote
sl3196 Posted July 16, 2005 Report Posted July 16, 2005 unplug the MAF and see if it changes. On newer GM cars when you unplug the MAF it'll make it run alittle better...  That'll signal if it's the MAF or not... Read his post again dude. Quote

DrCheeto Posted July 16, 2005 Author Report Posted July 16, 2005 So i replaced the MAF, Still runs like crap... I'm stumped. It ran GREAT for 2 weeks, and then all of a sudden poof! crap again, with the same codes... Â P0102 MAF Voltage low P0300 Misfire Detected And some random emission bs code... Â Â I'm stumped, and it's my daily driver, so I need to figure this out... Any More suggestions? Quote
MonteCarloChick Posted July 16, 2005 Report Posted July 16, 2005 Take it to Autozone and see what they say? Quote
DrCheeto Posted July 16, 2005 Author Report Posted July 16, 2005 Oh yea, The "Professionals at Autozone"... All they do is hook it up to the scanner and tell me the codes, and like i've said, ive replaced/checked everything EXCEPT the computer that could be causing this... Quote
Redwingvksm Posted July 16, 2005 Report Posted July 16, 2005 Ever think the wires rubbed through? Â There's a 1,000,000x more chance that happened than your comp took a crap on ya. Â Just look!! Trace the wires - it's a bitch and will take around 45 minutes - but I'd rather spend that and fix the wire for next to nothing than having to shell out for a comp and it still runs like crap... Â Geeze - got a multimeter laying around somewhere? Take the voltage while it's pluged in (I think the "b" wire) and see if you have the proper amount of voltage going in... Â Just use common sence instead of guessing and throwing parts. That's what 98% of technicans do and I am personally sick of people doing that! Quote
DrCheeto Posted July 16, 2005 Author Report Posted July 16, 2005 Now that i think about it, It runs the same with any sensor ive unplugged, EGR, IAT, MAF... I would assume the computer is in limp mode? Quote
Supreme Cutlass Posted July 16, 2005 Report Posted July 16, 2005 Could just be a loose connection.. Quote
DrCheeto Posted July 16, 2005 Author Report Posted July 16, 2005 Ok, pulled the codes again... MAF code is gone... Ive got p0300 still... and p1406... there is a sweet spot in the gas pedal where the missing stops..... I'm stumped.. Quote
Brian P Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 what year is this car now? It can't be anything in your sig since you're mentioning MAF and pulling OBD2 codes. Quote
