gp90se Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 sure, what it does is tell the computer the air thats comming in is colder, so the computer dumps more fuel into the engine which is supposed 2 add horsepower. it can cause more damage then good. what ya can do is put a small hole under the airfilter in the boxto let more air in. 1990lumina Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 Judging just by the amount of black on my Lumina's exhaust I'm gonna say my car runs leaner then my mom's Acura lol That Acura you have to polish the tips every month or so to get the black off....but yet my Lumina is the one that smells like gas when you walk by it idling lol Quote

Canada Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 The thing is, the car doesn't actually run rich.......the PCM will see an increased level of fuel via the oxygen sensor and turn down the injector's pulse width. Quote
