chadz34
I have searched but...where can I buy a DOHC computer chip. FFP doesn't sell them anymore. What is the link for the 60 Degree V6 store. I'm getting this chip for my birthday.

chadz34
How much will this affect my car performance wise? I know 8-10 hp, but how far does that go?
Aaron
Its biggest gains will be after 5500, the 3.4 will keep pulling with the chip, wheras it falls off stock. Plus he offers unlimited updates, for when you become highly modified. Plus, you can adjust/delete RPM and speed limiters, and change idles, and delete EGR. chadz34
Oh yeah I was gonna ask you about shift points. You know alot about these motors what should I set 1, 2, 3 and 4 at? No one better to ask other than you.
Aaron
Set them all at 6500rpm, which IIRC is stock. The specific points are different of course, but across the board, with a chip, 6500 is perfect, unless when you get highly modded and can make power above 6500, and have a tranny built to handle it, which you don't right now. Thanks for the compliments
chadz34
No problem man. Thanks again, I just figured you would know the most having built a fucking tank 3.4! So have all 4 gears at 6500 rpm. How much power can a stock tranny handle....I don't plan on making this car have alot of power right now just basic cold air intake and a chip maybe ud pulley and motor mounts because they are pretty basic. Well it depends. Some say they are pretty weak, but most people don't have any problems. I'd say you are good to 250wtq, which is a lot more than you will ever have with basic mods, so you should be fine. But avoid high rpm shifts and making it kick down at wide open, unless you have to, or want to. What I mean is, don't do it all the time. Yah, do the street race, kick it down on the highway, but don't trash it all the time and you'll be fine.
chadz34
I do like to give it a blast all the way through first gear though. I don't do it alot. I just don't want to have any tranny problems. Thanks for all your help Aaron.

Thanks for all your help Aaron. Oh yah that's not a problem, they are built to handle it, I wouldn't worry about it personally. No problem, hope you like it, I'm impressed by how much it helps and how much Ben stands by it.
JJ77
You know if you are not going to do any intake swap or p&p and just do basic bolt-ons you might as well set them all at 6200 because a stock LQ1 will stop pulling after that. When I put a quad four stall and 3.73 gearing, I will either set the cams at +8 int and -5 exh or +6 int and -6 exh so my powerband will be from 3500 to 6000 (I hope) . Then I can get my shift points changed from 6800 to 6000 And BTW you will love that chip

It was a 5-speed though, but this shouldn't make a difference too much, and if it all, it should raise them, considering the wider RPM drop would mean dropping more, so you should hold it a tad longer. Anyways, mine were at about the following IIRC: 1-2, 6400 2-3, 6500 3-4, 6100 Now the chip adds power above 6000, as the factory programming runs the car rich (Thus explaining some loss of power). The chip pulls some fuel, so it holds the power better at high rpm, thus raising shift points. I'd say 6500 personally, but its up to you.
