Intlcutlass
Just bitching mostly, but when I go on ebay , I see a TON of listings for 245/45/18's ...but only 1 or two for 235/45/18... Gnat suggested to use 235 because 245's will rub a little (probably at wheel lock) , and 235's will keep the tires tucked in a little more. I have 8" wide rim with a 35mm offset... I don't wanna buy em at a store ( I am too cheap) I guess I just have to be patient.....
DaveFromColorado
try finding 220/55-390 that's a next to impossable tire to find ... however, even Tirerack has them, and they have good prices. I would like to point out however, that a 245/45-18 will be closer to the stock tire size (only 0.2% off) where as the 235's will be much further off (1.1%) I ran 245/55-16's (0.1% off) on my first Z34 from the day I got it, till the day I got rid of it, and never had any issues with it - hope that helps some. --Dave. GnatGoSplat
The non 3.4 W's actually came with 215/60R16 so 235/45R18's are actually closer, but yeah, mine with 245/45R18's does rub on the plastic splash shield on the passenger side at full lock, and a tiny bit on the metal on the driver side at full lock. I didn't even discover that one until I took the wheel off. It could be the subframe alignment is off, but clearance is very tight. Brand of tires makes a difference though too. Mine are Michelins which are actually 26.8" in diameter compared to most 245/45R18's which are 26.7" or 26.6", so it could be my tires are a little bigger than other brands. The 235/45's on the 94 don't rub anything anywhere. Anyway, I bought these from this seller: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&category=66476&item=7985654556&sspagename=WDVW They're great in dry and rain... they're M+S rated for mud & snow, but they don't really look like they'd work too great in the snow. Never tried it, and anyone who drives around with 18's in winter is a little nutzo anyway. They're made by Goodyear, for whatever that's worth. I don't know why they're so rare... 235/45R18 is Infinity M45 factory size, but then I guess M45's aren't exactly a very popular car either.
