Nick1234 Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 Interesting that the section appeared when this question came to mind. My cousin has a 99 LTZ. At the front of the hood on the little lip there is a small rust spot about half the size of a dime. What steps can he take to help prevent it from spreading. Nick Quote
Grand Moff Joseph Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 I'd say sand it down, prime it and paint it as best as possible. Quote

GnatGoSplat Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 After you sand it down, put some phosphoric acid (rust jelly) on it for a few minutes to neutralize any tiny rust you missed. Quote
Grand Moff Joseph Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 Jelly, eh? Never heard of that before...cool! 8) Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 Yeah, sometimes it's called naval jelly. Quote
