relocating the battery.

dohc v6

for a V6 you will need a min of 4 gauge wire (power and ground) the more strands the better...2 gauge is optional as we have no problem starting the front 3100 or the rear 3800 in the twin engine 442, and we are running 4 gauge...my Nova has 2 gauge...

for IHRA/NHRA legality you will need a batterybox (sealed but must be vented outside of the trunk/hatch compartment) that is bolted down along with a secure holdown fot the battery inside...

we can get by this as our rear mounted battery is technically inside an engine compartment and has a firewall between the engine compartment and interior passenger compartment

you will also be required to have an accesible battery shutoff switch for track personell...

if the cable goes through any bulkheads you will need gromets to prevent the cable from rubbing through and shorting...also you will need cable holders (steel rubber coated rec but i have seen a few dragsters with Nylon holders) to secure the two cables to the chassis...

have fun! james

ok i know how to run wire but what do you do with the two connectors that are originaly there. you can just tie into them or the you could possibley get a spark

you will basically run the batt power to the starterr power terminal then you will have a seperate wire run from there up to the "Jumstart" post on the power dist box...the neg you will run to the block (use the same spot the orig neg batt cable went to) then a seperate one from there to chassis ground... you can remove you factory cables and save them for when you need to go back to stock/demoding....
