GrandPrixGTP95
Do I have to order this at the dealership, or can I go buy some normal fluid from an autoparts store? just curious
Guest TurboSedan
the GM dealership should have Syncromesh in stock. it's $9-10/quart, but i wouldn't use anything else. you'll need to buy 3 quarts since the transmission takes a little over 2 quarts. brianteel
actually most dealers dont carry it any more because they use a new stuff. get part number 12345349 that is the right stuff
Canada
Actually......most do. The dealership I work at has 20 quarts sitting in parts.....thats only roughly a 4-5 week supply for the shop, plus what gets sent over the counter. Beings the capacity is 2.1 quarts for my 284....*I* only use 2 quarts of fluid. Its about an 1/8" from the full mark. Supposedly Penzoil Synchromesh MTF is the same stuff. But, considering Penzoil's other products.....and the fact that the GM stuff IS correct (not just internet rumor) and what it is supposed to have.....I would just spend the extra cash. Its not like you have to change fluid a lot anyways.
