Stevo
I had 2 new flow masters installed. The guy gave me 2 quotes ... one was ok the other was rediculous. I went with the ok one and the guy installed them both at an angle pointing out to the left hand side. I told them they were'nt straight and he wouldnt believe me. I shoulda know he was gonna fuck em up when he told me mufflers he was removing were not stock... but they were. I'm genuinely pissed. Hows anyone supposed to get reasonable work done any more. Makes me wish I knew how to weld. I'll post pics to show you how rediculous this looks later. Right now my blood pressure is through the roof. GnatGoSplat
That sucks man. I can relate. I've NEVER been completely happy with anything I've ever paid to get done. For the most part, if I can't do it myself, it's just not going to get done.
J
talk to the manager or owner, and let them know how you feel. Don't bitch too bad unless u get no where, then if they say screw you, then start causing a scene. It's not fun to do or polite, but it usually works when other customers are in the shop getting work done. Quite honestly mig welding is easy, but the whole point of not having a welder sortta sets ya back too. Where are you located? Maybe i can help ya fix it. Lee
I was fortunate. I was at a hick shop and got to line up and hold the mufflers while he welded them. without heat, bending would be tough. Are the ends far enough under to add tips. If the pipes aren't too far off you could compensate by tilting the tips a tad. But then....first you should get the shop to fix their error, good luck. THe_DeTAiL3R
I think my town must be one of the few in the world that actually knows how to work on cars. The mechanic who put mine on put them on perfect. Although I can really only see the hard part would be taking off the old ones and putting the tips back on... FreakingGomer
i went with a middle of the line quote to get my eshaust installed, didn't wanna got super cheap because it worried me and was to broke to go super spendy, and I ended up with results I could have done myself with superglue and patience. neither side is centered, the tips are even with/stick out from the most far back piece of vehicle, kidna lopsided, I was soooo pissed, and they guy was like, oh well, its hard to get these things to align. I definately got the shaft, and all the other muffler shops i go to want almost as much to fix them as it cost me to buy them/install them. Turbocharged400sbc
ya get what ya pay fer guys...and remember look at all those shitty fart can installs on the ricers... we charge for our exhaust work but you get it perfect everytime... and soon we should be getting a new BendPack mandrel bender so we can start doing the 5 and 6 inch exhaust on TD Trucks... I am suprized that those shops didnt use a Jig...we will ratchet strap a long 2x4 to the underbelly inline with the vehicle and take our measurments from there... but on the rusttrap cars that they want the cheapest thing they can find...thats an eyeball job.... i wonder did the guy who welded your exhaust have an eyepatch? one eye mans no depth perception.... Stevo
I think the guy that worked on mine sees through the eyes of Marty Feldman. edit: still no pictures. My phone camera can take low shots. I will have to grab my cousins camera.
