Jovan_Vuksic Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 I've seen posts that say it can be done by transferring "some electronic stuff" from the 94 transmission to the earlier one. I am wondering exactly what needs to be swapped over and how difficult this is, is it worth my time and effort? I ask this because I can get a good 4t60 from a 92 grand prix almost immediately for a really good price. Thanks in advance. Jovan Quote
NOHC_WBody Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 Too much work & cost to be feasible. You'll spend more than the cost of an -E rebuild to swap it over. Quote
slick Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 Too much work & cost to be feasible. You'll spend more than the cost of an -E rebuild to swap it over. Pretty much sums it up. It's not worth the time or money to do it. You can get a junkyard 60E for a decent price. Quote
Euro Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 when did the GP's(or W's) stop getting the non 60-E? For the lumina it was late late 93 for the 94 model release year Quote
White93z34 Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 i'll ask my boss, we just did this put a 92' 4t60e in a 94' car, i'll check into it, i know we had to transfer some electronec stuffs, i'll find out what exactly. Quote
Robby1870 Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 93 was the first year for the 60E mated to a 3.1L DOHC's always had a 60E Quote
