Tranny Puked!!!

I'm pissed!! I just left my job working in a shop for construction and I've been real nervous about my car now since I cant just 'run it in' whenever I feel like workin on it. WELL today I went to take the wifey out for ice cream.

I started it up put it in reverse and it clunked as usual on start up (I think replacing the shot dog bones might help) I reverse out of my spot, throw it in drive and she just revs! thought it was in reverse so I check drive, nothing. turn the car off put it in park and try it again..nothing. than I see a puddle flowin fast from underneat. I instantly knew the tranny was gone!! there had to be 4 litres on the ground. I put it in reverse and revved it a bit and she slowly moved into my spot. I didnt wanna run it at all but I had to get it out of the road. I pop the hood and THANK GOD ithe freakin tranny cooler line to the bottom of the rad popped off. not the piece TO the rad, just a few inches up I had a fitting put in to connect to a new line and it popped at the fitting where the hose clamp connects it. I left the car took the wifeys and went to walmart to grab a jug of ATF and some new hose clamps. since its in front of my building and theres all that stain pointing that it was my car I cant really be wrenching in the front parking lot. so this is what I got planned, help me out with ANY SUGGESTIONS. Tomorrow I'm gonna remove the old house clamp, clean up the fitting and hose and reconnect with new clamp. pour in the 4 litres and see if she pukes again from anywhere. if she dosent than I'm gonna move the car to nearby where I can work on it and than I'l jack it, remove pan and replace filter and refill. would you do it any differently?

I'm just so nervous cuz the mileage is so high 265,000kms and she ran for about 15 seconds there with no or low fluid just gettin her back into her spot (arent these cars boats to park!) what do you guys think of this??

i would think it should be somewhat ok as long as you didnt rev it too high, and since you were in reverse it wouldnt have tried to switch gears with no fluid. I know I popped the same line on mine after i had the tranny replaced (in drive) and i had to do the same thing (on the road) to get off. I didn't let it rev too high and parked it, fixed it right, and has been good ever since

well put on new clamps put in almost 8 litres and she's running good, filled about a half litre over but nothin too serious. tried to use some absorb all on the driveway. it just got up the wet stuff and the stain is still there, I cant do much because the building dosent have a garden hose
