What about these 2?

So I drove down to Grayslake, Il with a buddy and took a look at some more Ws and we found these two

Blue Euro sedan with everything including the premium sound. It's a 93 with 111K miles on it and new tire as well. I got it down to about $950. Which is great since it was 1100 before. It has some body damage but nothing a rubber mallet can't fix.

Black 91 Euro coupe 145,000 miles with almost all the goodies with the exception of the power seats. I got it down from $900 to $750. I couldn't go lower becuase he just stuck new tire and an alt in it.

Tell me what you guys think. (Sorry for the pics, it's my cell phone.)

neither---I would take something non-w body as long as it was rust free, both those cars, no offence intended are junk, I have seen nicer cars in the junkyards around here, I over paid for mine, a 1993 Cutlass Supreme SL fairly basic, power windows/locks etc. no sunroof or pwr seats, but it only had 71k miles and it actually was an older womans car, the woman had had a stroke shortly after she purchased it and thus she drove it roughly 3-4 miles a day to drop her daughter off for school, it was in fact a great car, but not worth the 3k for what I have seen these cars go for since I have purchased mine.

moral of the story, there are better cars out there for $1000, try private party vs. dealer lots, most of the cars you are going to find for 1k on a lot are going to be pure junk as I am sure you have noticed.

How can you tell it's a 90, the grill?

I've been looking in the MKE area for a while for a private W but everything here is overpriced and rusted. I've resigned myself to some rust, nothing more than I can handle though. My 88 had a ton of rust on the outside, but it had a really good underbody. The sedan I can fix everything but the trunk myself. Almost every car that is 10+ year I assumed a new paint job. I just need a car NOW since the escort blew up. I'm going to bring my uncle, the one who got a brand new 01 Regal GSE in 2001 for $15K.

To bad about that coupe with the rust and all.

I discovered corrosion starting on the inside of the side panel at the bottom because the vent in the door jam was leaking water into hollow area between the outer and inner side panel and just started to rust.

I caught it in time luckily and it should stay away for good now the way I have fixed it

Anyway, I'd agree to go with the coupe, but shit I wouldn't pay 700 for that car. TO much body work.

neither, Id keep looking until you found something better, which you can, just have to know where to look in your area, or somewhere else for that matter if you really want a '90 or '91 W
