frusciante fan Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 so i started the first steps of getting my new exhaust done this summer. i talked to the guy and he's gonna figure out the cost of the mufflers and other materials. i talked to him about tips and he said that if i wanted them he could weld them on. the car will be painted white on the top and the lower half black. i want something big and impressive. i know i sound like an idiot but meh. these are some that i like: http://www.cardomain.com/item/APC156077 http://www.cardomain.com/item/PILPM557 http://www.cardomain.com/item/MGF35117 with that last one i would just have him shorten the pipe a bit and then add the tip. any ones to recommend and this one too...http://www.cardomain.com/item/BOR20154 Quote
frusciante fan Posted June 24, 2005 Author Report Posted June 24, 2005 dual exhaust by the way... Quote
frusciante fan Posted June 24, 2005 Author Report Posted June 24, 2005 ooo thinking about this now as well http://www.cardomain.com/item/BOR20155 Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 I agree with Prospeeder, the first one looks the best. Quote
mfewtrail Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 None of those. Since you've got a Regal, I'm pretty sure you have no exhaust cutouts in the rear bumper so I would run some turn down style tips. They're inexpensive, look good, and give the car a clean look(those big tips would be gaudy on Regal in my opinion). These are the type of tips I'm talking about. http://www.usgear.com/turndown.htm When installed, you can only see a small portion of the tip..I'm sure you've seen cars with them before(namely late 80's/early 90's Mustang GT's since they used them). EDIT: Or a thin/possibly rectangular style tip might look good since the Regals have a flat bumper. Quote
frusciante fan Posted June 24, 2005 Author Report Posted June 24, 2005 i don't really like those. i know they look rediculous on a regal, but i'm just having some fun. don't care if it looks stupid. Quote
nebojsa_o Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 LoL, I was gonna say that, but didn't to be nice, I guess it's ok to express you opinions, eh?? All of those look too big, and too ricey for a Regal, or many other cars also. 4" is a little too big for my liking. Quote

DW Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 Unless you're doing some custom bending.... aren't you going to need to have some sort of custom built turn-down or at least 2 bends in the pipe if it's replacing stock dual exhaust? I know when I did the mufflers in my STE I cut the old stainless tips off as I would have to have custom tailpipes bent because of how high the exhaust outlet actually sits replacing factory to factory-equiv. Something to think about... Quote
frusciante fan Posted June 24, 2005 Author Report Posted June 24, 2005 The shop has a pipe bender. Although I haven't decided if I want to start with the new exhaust from the from of the car, or from the rear axle and back. and I'm planning on using the 18" one and just having him make the pipe shorter in back most likely. pwmin Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 get the black ractive oval tips. im too lazy to look for them right now. ractive has an easy to find website. Quote
jeremy Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 i really don't care any of those tips.....they all look like they belong on imports Quote
Prospeeder Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 find some ones, that are square or rounded square shaped, the Regals ass end is square, so it would flow, but turn downs would be nice, i dont want somthing horribly sticking out from no where Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted June 25, 2005 Report Posted June 25, 2005 I agree with these guys.. those tips are too big. For a Regal I'd try to hide the tip as much as possible, turndown style would look the best. If you wanna rice your car buy a Honda Civic. Quote
frusciante fan Posted June 25, 2005 Author Report Posted June 25, 2005 i've thought it and i'm gonna go with a 3". not sure about the length yet but 4 is too big. and rice is good...with cheese Quote
Cam'ron Posted June 25, 2005 Report Posted June 25, 2005 I have the magnaflow 24" x 3" roller lip tip on my monte and it looks badass! Quote

FreakingGomer Posted July 2, 2005 Report Posted July 2, 2005 ^^^^^^^^^^^^ same exhasut tips I have on my turqiouse cutty--would post pics if I could ever figure out why my computer they are on won't connect to the internet Quote
95aquase Posted July 2, 2005 Report Posted July 2, 2005 yes they look good...and they were a bit pricy also....they are hedman.... Quote
Euro Posted July 2, 2005 Report Posted July 2, 2005 those tips really only look good if they have cutouts in the bumper Go with something that is a little less noticeable, like a turndown style Or something like mine, a dual outlet tip but it sits back under the bumper a little Or go black/polished Camaro tips Quote
