Adam S.
Anyone know where to find that Turbo Jacket the car came with from GM. They (GM) has discontinued it for a while. Thanks Adam
Prospeeder
j/y, ask around the turbo gp board, ask people who are parting out, mabye from a company who makes turbos, like garrette for a turbo insolation blanket for the T25 for somthing
LukeZ34
I'd stray away from Junkyard turbo blankets, as most of them will be fragile from old age and will probably fall apart as you remove them. Here's one, it's a bit pricey, but the company has a good reputation from other users on this forum and the TGP forums. http://www.designengineering.com/products.asp?m=sp&pid=
Adam S.
Cool Thanks that price is not bad at all. Anyone tried using just a fabricated metal plate to cover the turbo, there is already a small metal sheet on the bottom part of the down pipe, I was thinking the same for the top and around the turbo? RareGMFan
Not bad? For that price, it better come with a pillow and Aerobed.
joberlee
". * Designed to reduce turbo lag ... " How in the hell can a this thing do that? Is it a magical heat shield?
TurboKid
I have a D.E.I kiy on my car as well. It reduce's lag by allow quicker flow through out the exhaust (more heat). Thats why the kit comes with the blanket, as well as the down pipe wrap. I also had plenty left over to do my intake pipe to my TB. Expensive?? I paid $100 Canadian for the whole kit. My buddy who works at GM priced me out the original blanket (I know they are discontinued). The grand total would be $989.00 U.S.............so I don't think we should be complaining at all how much the D.E.I. kit is. Especially for how well it works. J
when i went to the JY this weekend, the TSTE had one on it and i was gonna take it off, and like everyone said it fell apart. I was sort of pissed. So you might want to just buy a new one

god910
OH NO, I'm replying. The lag is "reduced" by keeping the gas as hot as it can. Cold exh. expands and looses velocity. I'm pooped. I'll reply again in 3-5 months.
