Supreme Cutlass
My schrader valve on the fuel rail broke when I changed my fuel filter, and now it's leaking fuel. Where can I find that valve? Autozone, Pep Boys, and NAPA can't seem to find it, and GM is gonna rip me 33 bucks for it. I really don't want to pay 33 bucks for this itty bitty thing, so where else could I find one? are they just looking in the wrong place? or should I just let GM rip me for the part? Guest Anonymous
Just buy it at GM. It is probably costing you more in fuel that keeps leaking, looking for tthe part, than it would to just spend the damn 30 bucks on it and call it a day. jeremy
I would suck it up and buy it from GM....the sooner a gas leak is fixed, the better IMHO of course
Supreme Cutlass
It's summer and the car's just sitting there, so screw GM. I went up there for the part and after calling before hand for the price, the person at the desk turned his monitor away from me and told me that the price was $40 (ten dollars more than what I called in for). I've spent enought on the car this paycheck, so it looks like the car's gonna sit for a while longer. Naturally if anybody has tips on how to fix a slightly leaking schrader valve feel free to IM me. Supreme Cutlass
If you read the service manual, it states to release any fuel system pressure through that valve. The valve itself is just an attachment on top of the fuel rail, so the fuel rail is just fine.
terryk2003
If you read the service manual, it states to release any fuel system pressure through that valve. ohhhhh... ...guess thats why i don't read manuals...something will end up getting broke... anywayz, good luck on your search...maybe you could just get one from a junkyard!? Supreme Cutlass
That was my plan. One of my rear calipers is frozen anyway, and i'm on a hunt for a UB3 cluster, so I'll just take a valve off when I grab that and some other parts.
