J Posted June 20, 2005 Report Posted June 20, 2005 anyone use this stuff from elemental designs? I just ordered 50 sq feet of it, hope to get it soon. I'll let ya know how it all worked out Later Jay Quote
slick Posted June 20, 2005 Report Posted June 20, 2005 I'm assuming it's the same thing as Dynamat. The dynamat trunk kit's retail cost is a right about $50. I get it for $4. Jay, I have the same feeling about the ED's stuff. Quote
J Posted June 20, 2005 Author Report Posted June 20, 2005 http://edesignaudio.com/category.php?type=damp i got the v1 cuz it was in stock, i would have gotten the little bit thicker stuff if they had it in stock. What feeling do you have about the edead Chris? Quote
slick Posted June 21, 2005 Report Posted June 21, 2005 What feeling do you have about the edead Chris? Seems a lot like dynamat, but at a much cheaper cost. I see you spent about $50, since they charged $1/sq. ft. How much was shipping if you don't mind me asking? Also, where all are you applying it? Quote
J Posted June 21, 2005 Author Report Posted June 21, 2005 it was like $75 buck with shipping and a stupid ass roller that i paid $12 for, but hey it's a one time buy. It's going heavy on the rear strut towers (coilover noise) and every inch in the trunk, and package tray. When i run out it's time for doors (all 4) and the floor (interior has to come out anyway) SO in other words, the whole dammed car! Quote
slick Posted June 21, 2005 Report Posted June 21, 2005 Wow, thats gonna be a lot of that stuff! Quote
J Posted June 21, 2005 Author Report Posted June 21, 2005 yep it's gonna cost me about $200 to do the car as i want it, but it's not that bad, just a bitch on labor Quote
slick Posted June 21, 2005 Report Posted June 21, 2005 Nah, actually, that stuff is pretty easy to apply. Just remember though, once you put it there, it's there for good. That stuff sticks. Quote
Puggsley456 Posted June 21, 2005 Report Posted June 21, 2005 Just be sure to clean all the surfaces really well before you apply it. I used paint thinner to clean everything before applying it. I used 40SQ ft of second skin in my trunk. Deadening is well worth it in my opinion. Quote
J Posted June 21, 2005 Author Report Posted June 21, 2005 planned on it, but thanks for the tip. good to know that i'll have some left over for the package tray. i'll post pics as i apply it. later Jay Quote
