I had the same problem trying to do mine 2 months ago...

free bump, cuz if this gets figured out im going to do mine too 8)

I tried pulling on it with anything and everything, while the engine was rocked forward to do my plugs and no luck at all

I actually managed to get it out just now. Apparrently the secret is to latch onto the old PCV valve with a small pair of vice-grips, then, while cursing like a sailor really loudly, pull and twist in all directions, then it will come out. Luckly putting the new one in is ALOT easier than taking the old one out.

  • 3 weeks later...

the pcv valve hooks onto a hose coming from the top of the engine. does anything else connect to the end of the valve?

The car starts and runs, but i am still missing a connection off my valve cover. i have a 92 lumina, but the engine is a different year. most of the valve covers have the vacume line plug into the left side, mine plugs in the upper right hand corner. i am assuming that my mechanic missplaces the line

Needless to say, i still have a $200 dollar bill that'll never be paid since he left me hanging.
