mfewtrail Posted June 19, 2005 Report Posted June 19, 2005 I finally got around to scanning a few things that I have here the other day. I have all of these in much larger(like 3-4mb file sizes/huge dimensions if anyone wants them in larger versions). Shawn(Gnat), Jeff M., or anyone else...feel free to use these if you want to add them to your webpages. Misc. Grand Prix stuff from a dealer sales catalog I think: Interior info/pics.. http://images5.theimagehosting.com/misc_grandprix.jpg Good LE/SE exterior photos. http://images5.theimagehosting.com/misc_grandprix1.jpg Interior/exterior photos, & some info. http://images5.theimagehosting.com/misc_grandprix2.jpg Some stuff from a 1990 Grand Prix Sedans brochure mmm, 5spd http://images5.theimagehosting.com/sedan_brochure.jpg Rear cover of the brochure(car info on it...) http://images5.theimagehosting.com/sedan_brochure_back.jpg Turbo Grand Prix "Bringing Baby up on Boost" article(Car & Driver 1988 "Preview Test"...those familiar with TGP's will notice a few differences in the car featured vs. production TGP's.. ). http://images5.theimagehosting.com/tgp_article.jpg http://images5.theimagehosting.com/tgp_article1.jpg http://images5.theimagehosting.com/tgp_article2.jpg http://images5.theimagehosting.com/tgp_article3.jpg "1990 Turbo Grand Prix" Post Card from Bob Sellers Pontiac GMC Truck Inc. in Farmington Hills, Michigan(has 1990 written on the back also, I'll get a scan of the back soon...). http://images5.theimagehosting.com/tgp_postcard.jpg TGP & a regular STE from the same factory/dealer(?) sales catalog as the pics from above(nice pictures). http://images5.theimagehosting.com/tgp_regular_ste.jpg Turbo STE gauge cluster & partial article from the sedans brochure above, also a Turbo 3.1/LG5 sketch type picture. I'll scan the rest of the brochure later(it had a nice TSTE centerfold type picture, but I didn't scan both pages of it to merge it properly) http://images5.theimagehosting.com/turboSTE_cluster.jpg My TGP's original window sticker(it's a little bit wore/got it that way, at least it was laminated at some point though. ). My car was not fully optioned, I'm actually kinda glad it doesn't have the leather(my cloth interior is showroom clean thanks to previous owners that took great care of it). http://images5.theimagehosting.com/window_sticker.jpg Quote

Wow, those xlaces look cool, and is the braking on actual models that BAD? those are pretty quiet cars, i know the grand ams are close to the 90's if not in them, for there DBA Read this about coast-down measurements. http://www.pumaracing.co.uk/coastdwn.htm Those xlaces look like crap to me. I like the production ones. I'm not sure how our actual braking numbers are, I'm sure some of the other tests out there in other TGP articles probably state something different from this one. This was a prototype/early test version it seems due to the slight differences in appearance, it could have had some other type of brakes on it or either a lackluster performing/prototype PM3 system. Prospeeder Posted June 21, 2005 Report Posted June 21, 2005 the Manifold it pretty awsome too, too bad they didnt use it, i still am not understanding the coast down thing, is it the wheels lose power when u have it redlined then alow it to coast down or what? and look at the radio thing, what is tat? that doesnt look like a stereo next to the climate controls, or is it a 2 part set or what Quote

"Speaking of dynos, here is the coast-down method of measuring HP. You really only need a stopwatch and an accurate speedometer but I use a radar gun for more precision in the speed measurement. To measure the power available at a given speed, you first time how long it takes to accelerate from a bit below to a bit above that speed. Then you time how long it takes to decelerate with the car in neutral through the same speed interval. The first measurement measures how much power over and above drag and rolling resistance is available for acceleration. The second measurement measures the total of all parasitic losses including drag, rolling resistance, transmission losses, etc. The sum of these two is the power the engine is making." Quote

dbtk2 Posted June 21, 2005 Report Posted June 21, 2005 i dont think they were, never seen it once, could u show me a pic of an actual TGP, and not this prototype? I don't know of anyone on here that has one, but the '89s were DEFINATELY like that. I'll look around and see if I can find one though. I personally saw it like that in Skalors TGP when I was there to get my Lumina. You can kinda see skalor's in this pic here: Shawn Quote
