SmoothSteve3 Posted June 17, 2005 Report Posted June 17, 2005 Hey everyone- I know that there are the stock jack pointwith that gay little v-notch all along the edge of the car on the underside, but what are some other safe jack points that are like underneath the car or something? I ask because the dumbass owners before me basically mangled the ones that are all along the edge on the underside. I guess if ya'll have any pictures, they would help too. I gotta do some major work this weekend, and i gotta have a safe way to raise my car off the ground. Thanks! -SmoothSteve Quote
fastbird232 Posted June 17, 2005 Report Posted June 17, 2005 I sometimes put it under the subframe, but sometimes that collapses a little. That or I put it under the K-member and hope the jack goes high enough. Quote
dsgrntld187 Posted June 17, 2005 Report Posted June 17, 2005 I always use the pinchpoints myself with a 2x4 going across the grain, its always worked for me. Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted June 17, 2005 Report Posted June 17, 2005 In the rear there is a jack point behind the gas tank In the front I use the area behind the tire, or on the subframe when I go UNDER the car. I only used the subframe on my old 1988 GP cause it was so rusty. Quote
Stevo Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 Floor jack can go under the middle of the rear leaf spring's center plate and under the subframe mount points. Quote
