4 door to 2 door?

Should I go for the engine swap into the 2 door?

  1. 1. Should I go for the engine swap into the 2 door?

Hi guys, I'm brand new to the w-body forums, to w-bodies in general, and to driving (got my license in early april). My question is.... I have a 1990 cutlass supreme sl sedan. My dad's friend down the road has a 93 - 94 (not sure) cutlass supreme coupe. It's been sitting there for a few years and he said he'll get rid of it for a few hundred bucks. I think the car's engine is shot. My cutlass has a rebuilt 3.1 mpfi engine with like 40,000 miles on it. Would my engine fit in his cutlass? Do you think it would be worth it to go through an engine swap just to get a 2 door with a little better condition? Would the car have some problems with it after sitting so long?

I'd be going from this...

I would visually inspect the car all over. Check for rust, check out the suspension, check the paint, etc... Now, I could almost bet the 2dr has a 3100, which is a much better engine than the 3.1 is. If you do want to run it on the 3100 harness and ecm, it is possible, but would require a lot of tuning, and swapping of some plugs and stuff.

get the coupe.

I love mine...and, it gets some looks from the ladies, or at least my ladies.

And they're thinking "God, why is he driving that grandpa Oldsmobile?"

seriously, what ladies are you talking about?? your mom and sister??

most w-bodys aren't chick magnets!!! cept for a few of em

but most 2 doors are better looking, so i would inspect justa bout everything on the 2 door to make sure the motor's not the only thing that you have to majorly replace/work on.
