95 Cutlass Drop Top
I see that it is leaking right around where the metal line connects with the rubber hose, is it hard to fix it? Is there any way to disconnect the two , or do you have to replace the whole line?
R Dubya
whole line needs to be replaced. you can get one new from autozone for under $50. IIRC the rear of the sub frame needs to drop to replace it.

A bit of advice also...go over the return line while you're under there & make sure it's not about to start leaking...if it's in bad shape, you might as well replace it while you're under there, and already covered with grease & dirt.  Use a good quality wrench on the fittings on the R&P. Those are easy to round off lol voice of experience.
Guest TurboSedan
yeah i guess that would be the tell-tale sign  nah i was just thinking that if he had a 3100, than he probably wouldn't have to lower the sub frame.
GnatGoSplat
I had to fix that stupid line too. Lowering rear of the subframe isn't that bad, I've had to do it way too many times. The downpipe to cat joint on my car was rusted solid so I had to disconnect the exhaust at the downpipe to rear manifold connection. It was easier than I thought it would be though. luzmina
I did it for a friend of mine in a 93 Regal, 3.1 and I did not lowered the frame, just raised the car with two ramps and replaced the Hi Pressure hose but I dont remember step by step. 95 Cutlass Drop Top
So I can get to it by lowering the subframe?
GnatGoSplat
Yeah, jack up the car, remove the driver side wheel, remove the pinch bolt from the steering column and pop the steering column coupler off the rack. Then set a jack under the rear crossmember of the subframe. Loosen the front subframe bolts 7-turns and remove the rear subframe bolts. Lower the jack a few inches and voila! Rear of subframe is lowered giving enough clearance. You will also need to disconnect the exhaust.
95 Cutlass Drop Top
I know have access to the line but I still cant get it off. It is on there super tight and i'm using all my strength to get it of but nothing, is there a trick or something to this? If i end up rounding off the bolt, then what?
