GnatGoSplat
They are cool looking, but I don't think anyone here wants to pay $100/each for 16" tires!

Brian P
Ripoff. They're econo-tires disguised as performance. Check the specs treadwear 720 (that's a 70k tire) Traction A Temperature B. And a T speed rating? Keep looking. CHeck out some BFGoodrich in that size, like here: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=BFGoodrich&tireModel=Traction+T%2FA+H&vehicleSearch=false&partnum=26HR6TTA&fromCompare1=yes Treadwear 440 (about 40k) traction AA Temp A speed rating H, and it's cheaper. 19Cutlass94
I piad $140 for my michelins each, 16", plus the goodyear assurance is a directional tire so you cant get as long of life out of it.
ry92grandprixse
Well I ordered some kind of Cooper MultiMile tires and the Goodyear Assurant TripleTread's I will decide which I want when she gets out of the body shop at the end of the week. 19Cutlass94
Im my opinoin, michelins are the best tire, Ive always gotten the best gas mileage with them, plus I still have the old tires with 80,xxx on them and they were only rated at 70,xxx and they still have tread on them, so they last a very long time, if you rotate them like you should. Every Michelin I ever had sucked. Majorly. I've had my best luck with BF Goodrich tires. Never had a problem with any of them, and my dad pulled off 120k miles on the Touring T/A's that came on the back of the Grand Prix

You are actually wrong on how the treadwear system works. It gives no actual reference to how long the tires will last. It is only a way to compare one tire to another. Lets say you had a set of Kuhmo MX tires (a summer tire I really like), you got them to last 25k miles (pure random number) and they have a treadwear rating of 220 (fact). This means, driving they way YOU drive under the exact same conditions......you will get this set of Goodyears to last 3.36 times as long or about 84k miles. 25000 miles. * 740/220 = 25000 * 3.36 = 84,090 miles. Again, this is only to compare one tire to another.......the Goodyear will last 3.36 times as long as the Kuhmo.....thats all it means. No tire can do everything superbly........remember that. There are trade offs. I'm really not a fan of the traction T/A...H is only 130 mph. I piad $140 for my michelins each, 16", plus the goodyear assurance is a directional tire so you cant get as long of life out of it. As long as you aren't using a staggered tire size.....then you can rotate front to rear....and if your alingment is correct, tire wear won't be a problem. Besides, who really wants a set of tires to last 100k miles. And as it was pointed out above, with a treadwear of 740, this tire isn't going to wear fast at all. It is only a way to compare one tire to another. Oh I'm well aware. It's just an approximation. The whole UTQG system is just comparisons, not means of measurement. However, the majority of manufacturers that give "treadwear warranties" if you compare it to the treadwear #, is pretty close. Like a 30,000 tire may have a rating of 260. 60k tire may have 540. 80k has 720. But yes it's not an actual measurement.

Normally when you rotate tires, the left rear should to go right front, right rear to left front and the two from tires straight back, with the directional tire, you cant cross like that, you can only go forward and back. Although all these factors are important in terms of tread wear, rotating tires the correct way is also a big factor. The tread wear on my tires are also 740. WhiteOut
They are cool looking, but I don't think anyone here wants to pay $100/each for 16" tires! I paid around $100 a piece for my Goodyear Eagle GT HR's. I'm happy with those. I've heard mixed reviews about the Assurance though. A friend has them on his Maxima and he seems to think that they don't corner too well. Those tires are kinda the jack of all trades and king of none. PTMGR
I have the tires on my GP GTP. Have had them for about a year and I am very pleased with them. Got them for $99 apiece plus S/H from Tirerack and then had the local autobody class at Jr. college mount and balance them for free. Ran them through the winter and snow and they got me through just fine. Quiet on the highway, which is important to me so I can hear the stereo without having to crank it way up. I believe they definitely handle and corner better than the Firestone Firehawks that were on the car. I also wanted a tire that would last a while so I am hoping that I get 70K out of them. Just move the front to the back and the back to the front when you rotate them.

88Regal Limited
Try Daton "Daytona SR" tires. My friewnd with a 76 trans am 50th anniversery adition 455/4sp heavily modded can whip a positraction rear ended fatass around a corner at 120+ and still make it to the other side of the bend with no problems. Then again he put 5 grand+ into the suspension back in 77 so that could have somthing to do with it..... Check the cardomain, page 5 for the trans am. Don't ask me for a web page, HE ordered them. EDIT: Here's a page for the tire. He loves em, and they grip! http://www.daytontire.com/enthusiasts/index_fs.asp go to the tire selector, search by product name and go to dayton "Daytona SR"
pwmin
They are cool looking, but I don't think anyone here wants to pay $100/each for 16" tires! i pay at least 150 for 15" tires at a discount (i guess 35's dont count). i spent over 100 ea on my toyos and theyre worth every penny. those tires are only good for rain. otherwise, theyre a ripoff.
