94CutlassSLCoupe Posted June 10, 2005 Report Posted June 10, 2005 Off a '92 3.1 Convertible...should help it a little in autocross!! Now I need to get one of those rear ones!!! Quote
94CutlassSLCoupe Posted June 10, 2005 Author Report Posted June 10, 2005 Yep...we have them through my University twice per school term http://www.w-body.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=30129 http://www.w-body.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=29154 I pretty much just do it for fun but the car really would do pretty well if i had some autocross tires, despite the FE1 suspension. When jdcutty ran with me last weekend he only beat my by about .1 seconds despite having a 3.4 DOHC and FE3, along with 18" rims. Quote

jdcutty Posted June 10, 2005 Report Posted June 10, 2005 So you think you can take me now, eh? j/k.. I think i could have beat my second time, but i was trying to take it easy on my car. We'll just have to see though. Quote

Then (and no offense to him), he either can't drive or his suspension is shot. The FE3 is like a rock compared to the pussy ass FE1. I hated every moment of owning an FE1 because I felt like I was going to careen off the road every 10 seconds. FE1 is a nightmare, and while wider tires would improve it slightly, it'll never overcome the pisspoor spring rates and weak swaybars. Quote

FE3 is better, I know that...and it will probably be installed on my car in the near future, but in the meantime I do have a Z34 Lumie rear sway bar on my FE1 which makes an amazing amount of difference. My tires still suck BUT i really don't think my body roll was too bad...definately way better than a 95 Jetta that was there But the chances of me finding a big rotor 1st gen W with factory FE3 is very low...so i think i might have to buy two sets of strut assemblies. For the Monoleaf, I'd probably just get a new one if they weren't to expensive Quote
mihela816 Posted June 10, 2005 Report Posted June 10, 2005 Lol, the monoleaf is ~$800 from the dealer. A j-yard one would be more cost-effective. Quote
