4T60 inner CV joints vs, 3T40 inner CV's

Will driveaxles that fit a 4T60's outputs also fit a 3T40 in the same car?

I've got a friend with a 92' 4 speed Lumina...The tranny died on it. I've got a 94' 2.2 j-body that's in need of a motor with a fresh transmission(the 3T40) in it. I was wondering if I could pull the tranny in the gheybody and save him some cash. Will the 3T bolt up to the 3.1 in his car? Will the driveaxles in his car work? Are the tranny mounts the same for the 3 & the 4 on the Lumina? I'm not holding my breath on this one, but I can at least hope.

It will bolt up, but who knows if gear ratios and the shifting is different between the 2. I'm going to guess the axles for the Lumi would be fine and would fit fine, and that the trans mount is the same between the 2.

EDIT: I just saw that the J-body is a 94 since that is OBD-1.5 I really don't know.

You should be able to find a 4T60 in the yard for about 300.

I'm looking into that issue as I type this, to find out if it's vaccum or PCM controlled. If it's vaccum, I'm pullin that beeyotch.

I don't think he's worried about gear ratios and whatnot, it's his work commute car.

*update*

The gheybody's 3T trans mount is physically different from the W's 60 mount. They aren't interchangeable, so I have to find a 3T W mount for him now as well. :bash:
