97 Regal Stop light question

My neighbor has a 97 4door Regal and someone at the dmv told her the stop light was out, so she asked me to change it. I crawled in the trunk and noticed 2 round tabs holding it up and it looked as if the whole stop light was pushed to the rear of the car it would unlatch and come out. Well it doesn't. So my question is, is there anything else that needs to be done or is there some trick to this? I would just leave them burnt out but if someone tells an old women something is broke, they have to have it fixed no matter what. Thanks

My gtp is similiar and it popped out. Got an owner's manual?
