gp90se Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 Gotta have tunes in the new car, but of corse it isnt as easy as it should be. I yanked the head unit outta my GP figuring its gunna be the same wiring, nope, of corse not. I go down to the local store, pickup a wiring harness and plastic adapter. the wiring is the same 1 I had for the grand prix. Anyone know the right adapter to connect 2 the stock harness. Second part, the plastic doesnt look like its ment 2 take a CD player, it has the knob holes. Even if I cut the 2 plastic knob holders out, how do i bolt the head unit to it? Quote
cutlsp Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 i would make a plate out of steel then put that behind the trim panel peice where the hole for the cd player is. then bend the little clips up around the trim ring you custom made for the car. Quote
Regal_GS_1989 Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 you did try hooking it up to the actual head unit under the glove compartment, and not the display in the dash, Right?? Quote
gp90se Posted June 7, 2005 Author Report Posted June 7, 2005 thats exactly what I did wrong, felt like an idiot after i followed the wires back to the unit. I ended up installing it in the glove box. Quote
