how do I use the GM top engine cleaner?

I know some of you use a vacume hose or line to suck it in the manifold...which one do you use and where is it at?

TIA.

Take the brake booster vacuum line, the big one on the left, and suck it through that. Probably the easiest, IMO. I usually stick a funnel in there and pour it through the funnel.

Yeah, it will suck it really quick, and usually enough to collapse the bottle.

Yup. Exactly the way I do it. I don't dump it in too fast though or it will kill the engine. Just keep the throttle open a bit and start pouring.

If you use the brake booster line, squeeze it a bit so it's not wide open. It won't hardly do shit if it sucks it all in at once and there's a slight chance of hydrolock. You want to let it in slowly so it can do it's job.

the big hose on the left?...of the intake manifold...ok, i'll look.

i found the line, but geez, i can't get it off the booster......i got the clamp out of the way.....but the hose is still stuck on the booster.

i feel it will pull the plastic part that the hose is connected to out of the booster

Grab a pair of pliers, and grip right around the hose where it connects on the brake booster, and twist it around. It will brake loose.

i got it....geez my car smoked...it was cool....now i'm waiting the 15 minutes before i go finish off the can...

You guys that have used it, did u notice any difference in anything?

Posted

wow that stuff is cool

in smoked at idle when i was done for like 2 minutes...

i then reved it up and blue smoke every where.....and it stunk.

then i went down the road and full throttle to 65 mph and then drove about 70 mph for 2-3 miles and a small blue cloud followed me...

Well, from this, i can feel a little more down-low power in OD....i doesn't kick out of OD up hills like it used to do..

It seems to rev easier through the gears.....all in all, i like it.

Can someone please post a picture (with a circle or something) of the brake booster line that you are suppose to use (on a 3100 preferabley). I feel stupid asking this.. :|

Did you shut it off after it sucked up the bottle?

Or did you just go out and drive it?

From my experience's it smokes more if you just drive and not let it shut off.

Driver's side, right against the firewall.

See the hose right behind the tranny dipstick? (yours should be right there too.):
