Monroe Quick-Strut

CutlassSL91

Recommended Posts

Would anyone reccomend these? I want something hassle free and in expensive. My '91 CS FE1 have not been replaced in the front since it was new from what I know, and the body roll and handling is terrible. The front feels very sloppy. Monroe Quick struts good idea for front overhaul?

We have struts like that (not the same, but similar) up at work, theres been alot of people buying them lately, although I couldnt tell you if there good or bad cuz Ive never drove a car with those on them. But if you want good handling and such, Id just go with a new set of factory GM struts.

I would like to have the FE3 style suspension, and I guess the FE3 Springs are shorter and more progressive(?) I want better handling, everything on the front of this car is origional, and I've had problems with the plate the spring sits on getting badly corroded. I think it can be a lot better than it is.

Sounds like a "Quick Strut" might not be a bad idea, especially if you can get one for a 97 Cutlass Supreme, you can get the bigger front brakes.

BUT, it wouldn't surprise me if a Quick Strut doesn't exist for the gen 1 W's. Our front strut assemblies are a LOT more complex than the average front strut since the strut housing and knuckle are integrated. Do you know for sure there is a Quick Strut for these cars? I looked on the Monroe site and found nothing.

Well, it seems like Quick Struts have just been introduced so it might be awhile I bet till something comes to the market.

Someone should email Monroe and see if they are going to make one for our cars.

If they did brake upgrades would be so easy!

I dont know if anyone else feels this way but when somethin new gets introduced, Id rather see other people buy it first and let the product prove itself before I bought it
