Guest Anonymous Posted May 30, 2005 Report Posted May 30, 2005 On the second day of driving the Prix, I nopticed that after about 10 minutes of driving, the SES light would come on but nothing would be amiss, all the gauges were fine, fluid levels, etc. It did not run any differently when the SES light came on. The odd thing was that it took so long for it to come on. Then, today, the light stopped coming on. Any ideas? I haven't jumped that connector thing for codes- but has anyone ever had this happen? terryk2003 Posted May 30, 2005 Report Posted May 30, 2005 could be many different things...sounds like a 02 sensor or EGR right off hand to make the light come on and the car not running any different...maybe something isnt plugged in all the way or something...your best bet is to check the codes...cause when it comes to the SES there's really no way to guess... sl3196 Posted May 30, 2005 Report Posted May 30, 2005 If it aint coming on dont worry about it. Quote
White93z34 Posted May 30, 2005 Report Posted May 30, 2005 well pull the codes and get back to us, thats the ONLY way we can have any idea whats going on. Quote
digitaloutsider Posted May 30, 2005 Report Posted May 30, 2005 It takes.. at the most.. 2 minutes to check the codes. Get it over with. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted May 30, 2005 Report Posted May 30, 2005 Code 32 was stored: 32: EGR open command did not change the fuel mixture when the command was given during off idle operation. EGR opening should cause the mixture to be slightly richer because of the low oxygen content of exhaust gas. Quote
Canada Posted May 30, 2005 Report Posted May 30, 2005 Sounds like a sticking EGR valve or plugged passageway. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted May 30, 2005 Report Posted May 30, 2005 Thats what I've read via the search feature... Quote
5speedz34 Posted May 30, 2005 Report Posted May 30, 2005 In my but...... It's at the upper right hand corner of the intake by the PCV. It has 1 connector and 2 10 mm bolts holding it in. Take it off and clean the inside with carb cleaner. Honestly though, I fought with mine for 2 years and finally gave up and got the chip with the EGR turned off. FWIW: All it does is put carbon into you're intake. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted May 30, 2005 Report Posted May 30, 2005 What does the plug to it look like? I have a random 1 red wire with gray plug setup just dangling in that area.... Quote
loominaz34 Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 In the pic above, the EGR is directly above the TB. IIRC, the plug is a three or four wire plug in a triangle pattern. Quote
