timg
Saturday I went to the dyno. 263 wheel horsepower!! My last stock dyno at this shop was 166 wheel horsepower. That's roughly a gain of 100 wheel horsepower. I was running 7 psi and my motor was completely stock with 146,500 miles at the time of the dyno. Prep for the dyno- none. No ice, no long cool off, no special gas (pump gas 91 octane), and no tuning (I was also running with my cat in). The split second FTC1 is only setup to add tons of fuel and reduce ignition timing at 8 psi or greater (to save the motor in case of an overboost). From the dyno, it's obvious that I need some tuning, but I'll probably wait until I get the larger injectors and wideband O2 installed. I'm pretty happy with it. If you assume that the 166 whp was with about 210 crank horsepower, that would put me over 300 crank horsepower right now. Not sure how things work out if you use ratios instead, but it should be pretty good. Tim

maybe2fast
so what gave you the huge boost of power?

Canada
Oh.............. At first I thought you were turbocharged on your first run.......which wouldn't be very good at all....because it is near stock power. I assume the car was 100% stock then? How soon are you at full boost?
timg
Yeah, the first run was pretty much stock. I think I may have had an intake and exhaust. Later I dyno'd at Dyno Pro and went from 166 whp to 179 whp. Full boost depends on altitude and gearing. At sea level, I'm in full boost by 3500 rpm in first gear. At 7000 ft, it doesn't hit until 4500 rpm in first gear. In higher gears I'm full boost sooner. Tim
Guest TurboSedan
damn, a gain of 100whp with 7psi.....not bad at all!! that's kinda wierd that most people seem to get higher #s at DynoPros than PFI :? what's up with that? fwiw, the dyno chart i got from PFI was also graphed in MPH not RPM. i'd love to get a race video between you and my brother in his Shelby might be a close race, of course, he's running almost 3x the boost you are

I definitely got higher #'s at Dyno Pro versus PFI. I'll be back in about a month. I'll be in Casper for most of July. For June, I'll be in Canada. Maybe this July we can meet up some time.
