cramez
Car is a 94 Grand Prix SE sedan, 3100/4T60-E with 139k. Niether of my cooling fans are kicking on. The primary doesn't turn on at all, and the secondary doesn't turn on even with the a/c (although niether does the compressor). The coolant temperature sensor near the thermostat housing looks to be new, but I'm not sure if that's the one for the gauge or for the ECM (there were two separate ones if I remember right). Where's the second one? BTW--The service engine light was on last week due to a vacuum leak, and the fans kicked on with the light then, so I think that rules out fan relays/fuses/most wiring connections. Any ideas? jdcutty
Hard wire the fans and put a toggle switch in. turn the fans an when the car gets warm.
topless94style
The other sensor is either on the intake manifold or one of the heads, probably the back one if its on a head. Is your car getting hot enough? Kind of a stupid question but, my old car, while it was a 4 banger, rarely got hot enough to kick on the fans. 1990lumina
Does the aux. fan kick in with the a/c??
GnatGoSplat
Rule out the coolant fan motors by pulling the relays and jumpering a wire across terminals that correspond to pins #30 and #87 on the relay.
THe_DeTAiL3R
It has to get to about 3/5th on the guage before the fan(s) kick in. My a/c doesn't work so turning it on doesn't work either..
