Nick1234
Ok after getting a new transmission, it STILL doens't go into final drive. Still drives on the freeway in just 4th gear which is not how it is supposed to be. Is it the pcm, or could it be a broken wire, or a wheel speed sensor? When they took out the other tranny they said that some clutch was all fucked up so there was no overdrive. So i thought it would work. so there is something tlse. WHat is supposed to tell it to engage Nick
1990lumina
I thought 4 speeds is all that our cars have...if you have a tach, what is the rpm aprox. at 65mph or something??? Also, if the motor isn't warm enough, the TC won't lock up until it reachs normal operating temperature. At any rate, you mihgt want to take it back to the tranny shop and tell them it isn't working properly before your warantee expires
89GPSE
we only have 4 gears. 4th is overdrive. and the converter should lock-up in 4th unless the tranny shop screwed something up.
89SupremeCutty
The Tc should lock up at 37mph, with light throttle, or just after it shifts into 4th gear.
89Cutlass
I have my converter unplugged right now because it shutters when engaged. The harrness were it plugs in is under the air box on the front of the tranny its its about the size of my thumb.
