mewantsa87gnx
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, recommend to me some mono or 2 channel amps under $300 to drive (this is where the sub question comes in) A) 3 JL Audio 10" Subs 2 Infinity Reference Series 10" Subs C) 2 Rockford Fosgate Punch 12" Subs. The problem is that my puny Alpine MRV-T320 does not nearly provide enough power for the Rockford's. And that leaves me with a dillemma do I buy another amp, which I would like to do anyways, or switch the box to one of the other two 10" sub boxes but do not know which one. I also need to know if Bazooka or Audiobahn Amps are any good, on a scale of 1-10 (10 being Memphis) were would they stand. Thanks.
19Cutlass94
personally Id go with the Infinity subs with some pyramid amps.
slick
personally Id go with the Infinity subs with some pyramid amps. Pyramid is junk. Which JL series, w1, w2, w3, etc...? Which Fosgate subs, p1, p2, p3, t1, t2? DVC or single? How many ohms are each voice coil? How big of box? Info I need to know in order to correctly match you with an amplifier. mewantsa87gnx
i had a pyramid 4 channel that, when i changed the deck from a lowly kenwood to a pretty high end pioneer deck, burned a hole in itself, but before that it powered my JL Audio 10" (x3) box nicely for a while. The JL Audio Box is 3x10w012 subs in a JL Audio (JL Audio Power Wedge Box), the Rockford's are the BTR1212 (http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/library/1999/6_Speaker_Enclosures/LIT10358_FullRangeEncl_MAN.pdf), the Ifinity i can not remember the exact model, that is all i can give for now. 91grandprixGT
I just bought a swiss audio amp from a factory over seas and its a pretty nice amp cost me 230 dollars and it says its a 400 watt but its pushing a set of 800 watt rms subs and I had to rerun a bigger power wire cause the 4 gauge wasnt enough
cryptnix
ah, pyramid is quantity not quality... i wouldn't subject a jl subwoofer to such an amp as the distortion alone on them is enough. get balsy... i only have a 350.2 kicker amp powering two JL W3 D4 Version 1's ... they make me quite happy and piss off the on goers ... i play 'em 24/7 ... what?! i know theres better out there but ... Got a new install coming tho! (Sorry I had to plug it in ...) 3 JL W3's 2 D4's and 1 D2 ... running at I think it was 1.3 some ohms ... *shrugs* can't remember the math but the wiring is going to be wicked ... I can't wait to hear how well it hits!! 1000 watts to all three .... which is sufficient enough I think ... Memphis has an off brand ... and Memphis is hella cool. One of the downsides to kicker is that they get hot? well mine hasn't yet and I've pushed 3 subs at 16 ohms before and all it did was blow both of the fuses and my second fuse after my cap. Regardless. Boss isn't too bad *shrugs* I had a 600 watter powering some Alpine Type S ... which hurt them alittle bit cause of the distortion. That was when I was retarded and didn't understand it ... theres a few holes in this post but ... regardless ... Audiobahn, Kicker, Memphis, PowerAccoustic ... and a few others are fine unless you're really nuts ... mcintosh labs
