sl3196 Posted May 22, 2005 Report Posted May 22, 2005 Cutty's with mass air eh? They have mass airflow sensors. Quote
the duke and me Posted May 22, 2005 Author Report Posted May 22, 2005 SWEET!! whats mine say? none are speed density? Quote
dsgrntld187 Posted May 22, 2005 Report Posted May 22, 2005 I don't think so.. hey, my Cutlass doesn't have a MAF sensor.. Quote
john99gtp Posted May 22, 2005 Report Posted May 22, 2005 Depends on year and engine. 94+ 3.4 dohc have maf earlier are speed density i know my 3.1mpfi didnt have a maf i dont think 2.8 do either (ok so i lied, 88 2.8s in W's were MAF) all 3800s seem to 3100/3400 i dont know. edit: cause i gave wrong info Quote
dsgrntld187 Posted May 22, 2005 Report Posted May 22, 2005 My 3100 is a 94, it doesn't have one, but I've seen 2.8s with MAFs (1989 Pontiac 6000 LE Wagon).. It's actually rather confusing if you ask me.. Quote
DiscoStudd Posted May 22, 2005 Report Posted May 22, 2005 I think the 3100's got MAF after the switch to OBD-II in 96. My old 95 Grand Prix (OBD-I) didn't have a MAF, but my old 96 Lumina (OBD-II) did (both cars had the 3100...) Quote
dsgrntld187 Posted May 22, 2005 Report Posted May 22, 2005 I thought 95 would be OBD II? I thought 94 was OBD 1.5.. Quote
digitaloutsider Posted May 22, 2005 Report Posted May 22, 2005 94-95 were the hybrid OBD-1.5 years. 96+ was OBD-II Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted May 22, 2005 Report Posted May 22, 2005 My 88 GP was MAF but I converted it to 89 style (changed the memcal, VSS, different airbox). Stupid MAF was always broken this was an easy and better solution. Quote
