injector pulse ?

93 gp 3.1. how do i tell if my injectors are pulsing? i hooked up my voltmeter to the blue wire on the injectors and had a friend turn the key. with the key in run the injectors have roughly 12.5 volts. while the engine is cranking, the voltage drops roughly tp a steady 9.5. if the injectors are receiving a pulse signal from the ecm, should not the voltage on the blue wire be variable, something like turn signal a flasher?

funny thing is is that the car has started once a day for the past three days, and then after i shut it off it wouldn't start again. today i replaced the fuel filter, the plugs and wires are brand new, the colis and icm are good.

help please!!!

The voltage sounds right as when the starter is running most everything else gets less power.

Do you smell gas after you shut it off, almost sounds like you have a flooding condition on shutoff.

i'm not really sure. i'm pretty much covered in gas so it's hard to tell. anyhow, you're thinking my injectors are staying open? why would they do that?

Could be that...try holding the gas pedal to the floor when you crank it...if it runs then I would imagine that you're flooding out

If you hold the gas pedal to the floor, it won't start at all, it's in clear flood mode, but maybe you're meaning crank it with the pedal to the floor, stop cranking, let off the pedal and then start it. I had to read that twice to understand what you meant.

That's because holding the pedal to the floor kills the fuel completely I think...you do that in winter when the car won't start and it helps to keep from flooding the engine....basically it is full air and almost no fuelk I think...

wrong section = moved

sorry, didn't even realize which section i posted this in

I know neither of My CS's 2.8L and 3100 ever smelled like gas

hmm. my 90 did, and it always ran a bit rich no matter what i did to it. the flooding theory sounds probable, but i just don't have another 360 bucks to dump into new injectors  . i don't know what the hell i'm going to do now
