GutlessSupreme
Hokay, so I took the top end apart again, checked all pushrods, all rocker nut torque specs, etc, replaced my broken LIM, and threw it all back together. I actually got it started on the second crank (with the help of some starting fluid). All that, and it still runs like ass. I didn't solve anything It revs pretty damn slowly. The only thing I can think of is the torque on the rocker nuts - the $10 autozone wrench I borrowed from a friend is a joke. Just need to fork over the cash for a Craftsman wrench and check them all again. *sigh* Also, I pretty much entirely stripped the bolt on the idler pulley while trying to get it off (the spring must be shot, it vibrates like hell and makes the whole engine vibrate badly. And whenever I hit the brakes, the engine nearly dies - drops a few hundred rpm. I'm thinking that could be because of the pulley also though, because of the serpentine belt being kinda loose. Quick Q - the sensor that's on the rear of the eninge, the plug for it comes off the injector/alternator harness. Is that the crank sensor? And the bigger sensor to the left of that (it feels huge and round), is that the knock sensor?
no1kicker
You can rent a nice torque wrench from autozone for free, only you have to give them the $90 price for a deposit. I think I have that $10 torque wrench you speak of and it's only good for a breaker bar. My tensioner also vibrates up and down and lately I have a fluctuating idle. I will probably replace it this weekend, autozone has a dayco for $40.
