Weren't the 3100's that were available in 93's Multi-Port injected, rather that SFI like the newer ones?? I think I remeber seeing a picture of one where the plenum said 3100 Multi Port FI.

i've heard several people debate that the 3.1 was few and far between in 89' however i've seen some with the 3.1.

and for a 93' to get it i'd imaigine would have had to be REAL late production ones since the 3100 didn't officially debut till 94'

Woah, didn't expect to see a discussion break out on the motor, yes its a 3100 SFI with a round airbox, car was built in March of 1993. Anyways, ok, so got the gasket set, just a few more questions, the injectors shoud I clean them while there out or just replace them, they look kinda rusty but not badly.. any thoughts. And did anyone know exactly what the head set from GM is suppose to come with, meaning the exhaust manifold gaskets, before I go back to complain a little. THanks you all have been a big help.

my '89 LE had a 3.1L........

I apologize to the poster about taking this off topic, I have just never seen a '93 with a 3100....

Think the '89 GP's. The 3.1 was put in mid-year.

But if you got a stick shift, it was only mated to a 2.8 in '89. Strangely but truly (madly.....deeply) :cry:

No list, but did find out that it didn't come with them even after being told, so they gave me the gaskets for around 25 instead of retail. So it worked out ok. Anyways does anyone know the torque specs for the headbolts, and all the other bolts and the patterns to be torqued. Let me know thanks.

mm....

head bolts all to 33 lb ft THEN additional 90 degrees tighten. There is a specific pattern you have to follow, if I can find a pic I'll post it.

Lower intake bolts: http://www.60degreev6.com/TSB/TSB14-3x00.html

All other specs you can find here: http://www.60degreev6.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Pushrod&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=37&page=1

UPDATE

So I got everything put together just now, and went driving around, notice a knocking noise under the valve cover in the front, so that is easily fixed be tightening the rocker down thats loose, I knew one didn't feel right. also, the car is idling pretty rough and will shut down whilst idling.??? any ideas, I did bleed the gas lines to relieve pressure so maybe something with not enought fuel getting to the cylinders???

let me know guys thanks.

That will help, also, took off the valve covers again, the front rocker bolts were slighty loose, so tighten to spec, the rears tightened to spec except for one where the stud had broken, anyone know where to get just one stud for the rocker. THanks.
