89GPSE
1993 CS SL 3.1, All of a sudden won't start after sitting for a few months, got it started with starting fluid ran for about 4-5 mins. Now it will not start at all, will fire but not start running. Pulled the plugs, gas fouled, cleaned them still won't start. Read the check engine light and got code 33 MAP sensor. Can that go bad from sitting? And would it prevent the car from starting? thanks, Justin
topless94style
Ya it would prevent it from starting, its what helps determine fuel.
GP1138
I believe the MAP sensor is on the same circuit as the TP sensor. I'd check that too.
no1kicker
Code 33 means low voltage from the map sensor. Can be caused by a vacuum leak.
Brian P
will it run again with starting fluid? Also did you try "clear flood mode" keeping the pedal to the floor while cranking it?

I have never heard of that. To the floor I would think would flood it more. no?
topless94style
No, it just lets in more air to compensate for the fuel that is already in your cylinders.
