georgost
Hey guys, my car started doing something funny. When I start the car, there is an audible hissing sund coming from the passenger side under the dash. I haven't taken anything apart to see what's up, but it is very strange. Sounds like an air leak. Any ideas? The heat and aircon still work fine.

Prospeeder
does the cruise work? do the vents change?
MoTox8410
does is soumd like whining noise??it could be the fan for the heat and air
georgost
Haven't checked the cruise, will check that tonight. It isn't the fan, that makes it's own noise, but this is definitely an air leak sort of noise. I think it may have to do with the vents. buckethead
my chrysler had that problem... it pissed me off big time. Good luck finding it
georgost
i tried checking the air flow: Defrost/defog worked So did the vent (upper) Don't believe the passenger footwell was working.
buckethead
an airleak won't necessarily mean that you'll lose your hvac controls... the controls in my chrysler worked great. The hissing noise did go away at some settings though. Is your hissing changing when you change your vents?
georgost
no it doesn't change. It is on consistently!
