Ok, I have a 1999 Grand Prix GTP that has tranny issues.

I drove it about 60 miles on the highway, went into a theater for a movie. When I came out, it pulled away fine, but I stopped at a stop sign a couple blocks away, and so did my tranny.

Fluid is a little dirty, but full, and doesn't smell burnt at all.

Car starts and runs fine, it's just no movement out of the tranny.

I tried switching out to the stock PCM, and no change.

After it sat a couple days, I went out to mess with it, and I checked to make sure all the plugs going into anything on the tranny were good and tight. Started it up, and it went right into gear. I pulled it forward about 50 feet, backed it up about 15 feet, and it quit moving again.

I'm at a loss, I'm not sure what would cause that. I'm going to try to change the filter and fluid in the hopes that maybe the filter is just so clogged it's not letting fluid pass through it, but I'm not holding my breath.

I figure there might be sensors, switches, or something. All I see is the one on the top of the transmission where the gear selector is. I don't have a diagram or anything, but I am pretty sure that's the neutral safety switch, which would not let it start in the first place, let alone let it move.

Any ideas?

If the TC bit the bullit youd still get SOME movement, just really shitty engagement and such.

I think your trans pump may be going. Its an adjustable output and if the adjustment is fucked, it wont create enough pressure to lock in the gear.

The weird part for me is that there has been NO slipping at all, no noises, nothing.

I've never had anything major (like the pump or converter) just up and quit on me.

I drive about 75 miles daily, and haven't had any issue until this.

I'm not familier with this tranny though, hence my request for help, so I appreciate it.
