Also, in the cold, my digital dash is soooo dim its rediculous, Is this because its an LCD display or something? Also, would cold mess with teh car vacume system? Robby1870 Posted January 26, 2003 Report Share Posted January 26, 2003 your idle rpm is fine, I think, is that is park or drive with your foot on the brake?? My 3.1L will, after its warmed up, idle around 725 rpm in park and like 650rpm in drive with my foot on the brake. The cold should not mess with the cars vacuum system, and it should mess with the coolant, as long as it doesnt freeze the coolant. In my experiences, cold can do a lot of weird stuff to cars. Just let it warm up properly, about 5 minutes should be good, before driving it, thats what I usually do and it works fine.
