JMo60
does anyone have any actual gains of the udp for the 3100? does anyone have before and after 1/4 mile times? i want actual proof of performance gains before i buy it. i know people say they feel it in the ass dyno, but i need numbers. slick
I'm pretty sure they tested it to about 5 whp. I really don't think thats enough to be noticeable in the 1/4 mile.
Brian P
If you're looking for a significant boost in power or 1/4 times, the pulley won't do it.
FastSE2DR
i can feel it in the seat of the pants dyno but its not gonna be a lot of gain...its aftermarket for a 3100 that gives you a tad bit of power...soak it up!
dbtk2
It doesn't give a lot of power, about 8 crank hp actually, however it is one of the few mods you can do, and 8hp is 8hp, its better than no gain. Depending on how much power your car already has you might gain a tenth or so in the 1/4. Shawn
JJ77
Here is the dyno sheet from their web page http://www.fastfwdperformance.com/uddyno.htm And I couldn't tell you what a difference it made because I install the chip, dog-bone and UD pulley at the same time. I'll never forget the first time I did a 1st gear drop at 20 mph
Canada
I was able to pull an additional car legnth on my roomates SE-R in a 60 mph roll at 90 mph.
JMo60
Im sure someone on this site has before and after udp time slips. I have a nearly stock 94 grand prix that runs 16.19 with the 3100, i have no idea why its faster allready than most other stock 3100 W's
EurosportZ34
take my word on it...the FFP UDP works! it's well worth the money
topless94style
It does provide a nice gain, i think more noticible though is how the engine revs much quicker.
no1kicker
Look at it this way. If you want more power, and this company makes a pulley, why not get one? There isn't a huge amount of aftermarket so get what you can.
FastSE2DR
yeah just buy it...its not robbing your bank its only like $100...thats not bad for an actual aftermarket part for the 3100...2nd gear is a different feeling...thats where i noticed my biggest gains
JMo60
im probably going to buy the pulley, but i cant believe that there is no one out there who has actually tested the pulley in the 1/4. I test everything i do, and never trust the ass dyno
FastSE2DR
thats because we dont all race our 3100 w-bodys at the track all the time...cause face it they are slow as shit...and we arent gonna be too picky cause the ass dyno is sometimes more important for a car like this cause it makes it better to drive
dbtk2
im probably going to buy the pulley, but i cant believe that there is no one out there who has actually tested the pulley in the 1/4. I test everything i do, and never trust the ass dyno I can believe it. People on here drive their cars everyday, I cna't think of many on here that don't drive their w as their primary car. They put the pulley on because they want more power for driving, not for racing. (maybe the occasional street race) W's aren't race cars so why treat them as such. I take my cars to the track to get an idea of what they run, and thats pretty much it. If I do significant mods later than I try to take it back and see what it runs then, but that doesn't give me an idea of what just one mod does. In all honesty, I just like to drive my w's around, and sometimes if I feel it doesn't get up to speed quick enough I'll drop a little more dough on another mod, but why tear up my drivetrain taking it to the track everytime I do a little mod just to see how much I gained. The pulley makes a noticable difference, thats all that really matters. If you want your car to go faster, you might want to consider investing in it. JMo60
so if your W "isnt a race car" why do you even bother modding it? you dont need to go fast if you dont race. why not have fun with your car while you can? My w is a daily driver, i just got eneough balls to go to the track as well as drive it. You dont have to be fast to bracket race
FastSE2DR
bracket racing is gay....modding makes the car more fun to drive and i have the modding fever...i have ported intake manifolds and a throttle body sitting at my house too cause i like to have fun with my car...power usually=fun but i like 400awhp better

My w is a daily driver, i just got eneough balls to go to the track as well as drive it. You dont have to be fast to bracket race I mod it because its fun. I live in the middle of nowhere. I go out and beat on it when I feel like it because there is nobody around and I can enjoy it. I like to be able to pull up next to a '04 GTO and pull on them (took one from a 20mph roll to 80 before they gave up), because its surprising, they don't expect it. And I just flat out can't stand driving a car that can't get out of its own way, I want to be able to merge onto the highway without others having to move over so I can get into traffic. I have enough balls to go to the track, I've been there twice in my dads TGP, 4 times in my STE, and once in my Lumina (only had it 3 months), which is probably more often than most on here, however I would've been there dozens and dozens of times if I went there after every mod. Not to mention I've been there numerous times with my dads GTP. However, I'm also not rich (being 17 and making $5.75/hr.), you race a w-body with the power mine are making and you have to put trannies in them a lot, which two trannies ago I realized I couldn't afford. Bracket racing is cool and all, but you can't bracket race a FWD car that is this fast (even though its not very fast) because you can't get traction so you can't be consistant. I don't care what others think when I'm at the track, I go to see what it runs, it doesn't matter how fast your car is someone else will have one thats faster. But I'm not about to go there every single time I do a mod, I don't see the point in it... Shawn
