Redfox340
Who knows a home remedy how to clear out the troubles codes for a 1996 OBDII ECM? I ran a can of throttle body cleaner through the intake (not shooting through the MAF sensor) and the SES light is still on after pulling the negative battery cable... Any help would be great. Thanks! - RedFox340
toastemcutlass
I know there is a way but my friends 2002 sunfire would not reset by disconnecting the battery. one day he forgot his aftermarket fog lights on all day and it completly killed the bat. after he jumped the car the light was off. cutlassdude96
youll need a code scanner to clear the codes, go to Autozone and have then clear the codes.
Redfox340
I thought so, but was double checkin' for sure... I do have an older car, but I still see advantages from the OBDI's over the OBDII's. Thanks for the input! - RedFox340
Sailor77
since we are on this topic. Think it is possible to switch from a OBD1.5 to an OBDII? Given you get the computer and wiring harness?
RedZMonte
if you unhook the battery for a couple hours it will clear the code. with OBD I it takes only a couple of minutes.. obdII is funny like that. RedZ
