99RegalGS
Today I got my friend's old Fiero shift lever (his car has a short throw shifter in it). I'm going to attempt to put it in my Cutlass in the next few weeks (with some modification). Anyway here are some pics. Looks alot better than the stamped pos in my car from the factory. 5speedz34
Keep us updated we really need one! BTW- What do you think of the shift cable bushings? And can you still get them?
99RegalGS
I used a GP shifter in my CS and hacked off a inch and a half....thats my "short" throw shifter lol, If I had a GP shift lever that's probably what I'd do also. Keep us updated we really need one! BTW- What do you think of the shift cable bushings? And can you still get them? I probably be able to work on it for the next couple days. but when I get a chance to I'll definetly keep you updated. I love the poly bushings I got last year. I'm sure you can still get them. I'll get the website with the guy's e-mail. EDIT: http://www.w-body.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19804

jeremy
I thought so, the 85-88 Fieros had longer shifters....

99RegalGS
Call me optimistic, but I have a feeling it won't work... Just a feeling... Why not? They arn't tooo much different. Looks like the main thing to change is the pivot point. Here's the factory Z34 and Cutlass shift lever (GP's had a different one). You can see the difference in the pivot point. I'm not too worried about it...
5speedz34
Wow! I never thought they were that long!
DrRodey
shorter of the two stock fiero shifters..... There were 3 different shifters for the Fiero 84 85/86 and 87/88 all had differences. 84's were the shortest, with the most agressive angle 87/88 were the straightest and of course the 85/86 were in the middle somewhere as far as the angle of the bend in them. 99RegalGS
The GP one looks identical to that CS Stick except instead of flat its a nice tube and given the choice between both i went with the GP one Yep, I'd definetly go with the GP shifter too..
