It sounds like a 94 3.1 swapped into a car that originally had a 92 3.1, correct? There are a lot of posts here, you can't just say "the swap," cuz then I relate it to swapping a 3.4 DOHC into a Fiero.
White93z34
everything ought to be the same, just double check between both engines when you have them out of the car.
5speedz34
You're going from a 92 3.1 to a 94 3.1? It's not a 3100 right? if so everything will be the same
Jostran911
it is a 3100. i have read the FAQ section and the swap is suppoed to be easy Just curious on wiring, what would be difference on 3100 over 3.1 I know coil pack location is different. Most of the sensors look the same curious thanks
slick
Actually, there isn't much of a difference between the wiring. You will have to use the 3.1 injectors, and I keep wanting to say the fuel rail as well, but I could be wrong on that. There are a few plugs that you will have to change, but thats no biggie. Otherwise, it is pretty much a direct drop in and go.
Brian P
you have tro lengthen the DIS wires, I think the TPS wires, you need to change out the accelerator cable with one from a 3100 car, use a 3100 p/s pump, modify the p/s return line (lengthen it and it needs to curve differently), and you need to use the 3100 exhaust downpipe and mate it to your existing exhaust. You need to use the 3100 fuel rail so you'll have to adapt to the 3100 "quick connect" body-side fuel lines to have this. I'm sure there's more...
