Hey all,

When I'm doing around 35 or so, andI put the gas pedal to the floor, the car jerks and misses bad, then if I let off a bit it kicks down and takes off!

Anyone had this problem, or know how to fix it?

Thanks for all your help!!!

I had to change the fuel pump 3 times in the 4 years I've owned the car, it seems to go out once a year, could be cheap Auto Zone parts? Oh well it's free replacement. The filter was changed about 2 years ago, and I noticed this prob about a year ago. I was told it was the throttle cable. And it only surges with acc. pressed to the floor, not when at idle or normal take off. If I floor it from a dead stop it runs fine, just if you're going down the road and floor it, like to pass someone, is when it misses.

your problem sounds so similar to mine...except opposite situation...mine will take off fine if i floor it, but it kinda surges and misses when i take off easy...

Could it have anything to do with the egr port being plugged? I have a code that says egr valve 3 is sticking, it happened before, dealer said port just needed cleaned out. How do I do that? And what kind of solvent should I use? Could it me the throttle cable needs adjusted? If so how? It's almost like it's trying to kick down into the passing gear but can't.?????
