sunny_8
All, So I fixed my oil-pump o-ring issue, and while the car was apart, I cleaned the upper and lower intakes with gasoline. Do I need to use seafoam ? Will it get out the carbon on the lower engine where the lower intakes meet the engine block ? Also on a 3.4 DOHC where do you suck in the sea foam at ? I could not see a hose from the brake booster. I was thinking to try the small line under the pcv conncetion at the TB. thanks, ~S
GOT2B GM
I use the small line under the PCV that you mentioned. The brake booster hose runs from behind the plenum to the pass. side of the booster. You may want to change your oil after using seafoam or TEC. Tigershark
I'm not sure if we're talking about the same thing here, use the Gum-out flush on my Engine, I drain the oil, change the oil filter, and add about 4.5 qts of Gum out in the engine. I let it run for about 10 minutes, afterwards I let it drain for about Five Min. then I add the oil, Spin on a new filter and it keeps my engine clean. The only problem with it so far is that I can't find it at retail shops, I can only get it through my shop. But it works.
topless94style
Seafoam cleans out the carbon inside the engine, piston tops heads etc. That gum-out stuff cleans where the oil goes throughout the engine, which I would hope is not in the intake or on the piston tops. You can run seafoam pretty much anywhere in your engine.
