Brian P
ah yeah I chased down a code 43 on my old car for a while. It was the ecm in the end! Did you reset the ecm after changing the parts? It's possible code 43 may not return, it's anyone's guess.
MonteC
i pulled the underhood fuse that is next to the winsheild washer tank, the ecm fuse. took it out for half a minute then put it back in, im assuming this cuts power to the ecm and lets it reset. started it back up, did a relearn, code is still there, and fugged up idle is still there. im begining to think its the ecm, both my speedo and tach are both equally off, and im having these "mystery" problems. where can i find a good ecm? junk yard? people on the board? is it going to cost me an arm and a leg? :bawl:
Brian P
If I can find the old style ECM you can have it cheap. I'll take a look in my parts bin tomorrow. If you don't hear from me just remind me.

kadeas
Ok, I had the same prob. to. It was my tcc solenoid, didn't have the 500.00 to have it fixed and herd you could unplug it for a fix. I unplugged every connector I could find on or near the trans. and test drove it, it still did it. I then plugged everything back up and it worked fine ever since! Hopefully you have the same luck. MonteC
no it wasnt the tcc solenoid. ive fixed all but one problem and i know what that one problem is. the code 43 (esc) was my spark knock sensor, the wire was streched out and was grounding on a bolt on the back of the block. fixed that. the stalling out at idle is the tps, i replaced it but i guess i got a defective one. my girlfriends dad used to own a shop and he has one of those data streaming scanners. we found that the tps is gettin voltage to it, but its not sending a signal out, back to the ecm. so as soon as i get ahold of a tps sensor bolt im gonna go troubleshoot it. (he let me borrow the scanner) thanks for you advice though. car runs great.
kadeas
Ahh...maybe I had the same problem as you and I just happened to move the wire away from the spot it was grounding to. Not sure. I had a mechanic run the scan tool as well and he had said it was the tcc. Who knows, runs good ever since. Glad to hear you got it going btw. 3pt1lumina
my buddies 93 Lumina did this... It was the Crank Position Sensor. I didn't think it could cause these kinds of problems... and it's a PITA to do so try all other alternatives first I suppose.
wally05
I had a similar prob with my old Sunbird. I ended up replacing the whole Ecm (kept the prom) and it ran fine after that, never gave me any probs. Korey
