veritasz34
The front to rear manifold crossover(??) pipe in the Z34 really produces some radiant heat. This looks like it will degrade plastic/polomer parts over time.. Has anuone added a covering to this like header wrap or a sheild to reduce heat from straying??If so how were the results..Thanks in advance.. Aaron
First of all it is already wrapped in a heat shield, and second of all, of all the Z34s I;ve ever heard of, I've never heard of anyone melting any parts.
GOT2B GM
I wonder if it might help reduce underhood temps a bit
veritasz34
No you are right..It has not melted anything but with the increase in temp from the pipe I've replaced several plastic lines and components due to premature ageing from the heat..Reducing the underhood temp is exactly what I'm shooting for.. 5speedz34
IMO-Why are you doing that? Just because some plastic lines over 10 years have worn out. If it's performance you won't see really any gains with a cooler engine bay unless you have CAI.
