Tranny or something else?

I have noticed in the last few months something change in my shifting.

Z34, 92, 196,000KM's.

Everything seems fine, no big bangs or jolts from git go.

The problem is 2 fold.

1. RPM's at 60 KM or more drop to 1500.

This makes the car very slugish and almost impossible to engage overdrive.

I can floor it (from 60KM's and up), and all it does it chug and lurch.

2. When I'm am traveling at 100KM's or more and let off the gas completly, it feels like the tranny wants to shoot out the front.

No bad sounds, just a feeling that the tranny didn't like it much.

When applying more gas (doing 90-100km's), I definatly feel a jerk I didn't notice before.

I hope this is just a sensor problem (shift timming) and not real tranny trouble.

I have cheched my tranny levels, all good.

Any advice?

Thanks test.

Don't know to much, but I'd guess some type of kick down control isn't functioning correctly when you floor it at 60km. I know my car shift into overdrive doing 72KM, but if I push the gas maybe half way she'll pop back into 3rd or 2nd depending on how far I push it.

As for the lurch you seem to have at 100KM, I know when I have my car to the mat and it shifts from 3rd to overdrive it jolts pretty good, but if I accelerate normally nothing out of the ordinary...same for you? or don't it always lurch forward even when accelerating normally?

Maybe VSS??

When doing 60KM, have you ever tried to manually shift it down to D or second? Will it willingly shift down if you do it manually??
